"For Belarus To Live"

Slutsk remembered the heroes of the uprising under the banner of Pahonia.

"For those who went to die to let Fatherland live," - this was the inscription on the banner with Pahonia, which became the main slogan and the main symbol of the Slutsk rebels. In November-December 1920, about 10 thousand rebels fought more than a month with the forces of the Red Army throughout Slutsk region. They fought against the Bolshevik oppression and for the power of the Belarusian People's Republic. Hrozava, Semezhava, Vyzna, Tsimkavichy, Kopyl, Slutsk and other towns and villages were places of fighting, the website of the Belsat TV channel writes.

Some of these places were visited by activists of the Conservative-Christian Party - Belarusian Popular Front and their supporters to commemorate the memory of the rebel heroes - fighters for freedom and independence of the Belarusian People's Republic - on the 99th anniversary of the Slutsk armed uprising.

The celebration of the 99th anniversary of the Slutsk Uprising ended with a rally in Slutsk. Now that the issue of Belarus' independence has reemerged, the organizers of the memorable event once again reminded the participants and those present about the slogan of the uprising: "To let Fatherland live".

"Slutsk uprising was fighting for Belarus, it's a reminder to us that even in those conditions the Belarusians took up arms in defense of their country," - CCP representative Yuras Belenki said.
