Siarhei Verameyanka: Belarusians Love And Remember Their Heroes
SIARHEI VERAMEYANKA

More than a hundred activists will travel from Hrodna to Vilnius for the event commemorating the 1863-64 uprising.

Representatives of the campaign # kalinouski2019, which almost half a year is engaged in commemoration of the 1863-64 uprising in Hrodna region, invite everybody to go to the events in Vilnius, where on November 22 the remains of the Kalinouski rebels will be reburied.

On November 22, 2019, events involving the reburial of Kalinouski's rebels and the leader of the uprising, Kastus Kalinouski, will take place in the capital of Lithuania.

Siarhei Verameyanka, a BCD representative at #kalinouski2019, told racyja.com:

- Human memory, memory of Belarusians, the national memory, has always been very strong, as well as the genetic memory. No matter how much the modern authorities try to keep silent or ignore our heroes, it still does not work, because people remember, people know, people love their heroes. Therefore, I believe that the Belarusians should come and honor, to the greatest extent possible, the memory of our heroes, our rebels, who fought for the independence of our country, who gave an impulse for future fighters, for future heroes.

It is planned that more than a hundred activists will travel from Hrodna to Vilnius for the event. A big bus and accommodation in Vilnius from 22 to 23 November 2019 have already been organized.
