Falsifiers Launched Carousel Voting, Fear Being Uncovered

Without the carousel, the polling stations would be almost empty.

They simply did their job, according to the For Freedom movement, whose observers reported serious irregularities during the election. Representatives of the For Freedom movement recorded a fourfold overstatement of voter turnout in five precincts of the district, and announced a sixfold falsification of turnout at the polling station #565.

Observers from four polling stations called the law-enforcement officers to verify the violations. But the police refused to fulfill their official duties and threatened the observers with administrative responsibility for a false call, the Kompromat Belarus Telegram channel reported.

For example, observer at the polling station # 568, Andrei Rohau called a policeman to inspect a possible excess of turnout by 6.5 times. The law-enforcement officer who arrived at the scene said that he would report the results of the verification after the election, after which they made a report on Rohau over alleged insulting the chairman of the precinct commission, and removed him from the polling station.

It is known that along with Rohau, other observers were also removed from the polling stations: Yauhen Baltramun - for a photo of the ballot box seal, Uladzimir Shyla - for talking with international observers, Aleh Korban - at the request of pro-government observers, Hanna Tolchykava - for transmitting information about falsifications to journalists.

Leader of the For Freedom movement Yury Hubarevich explained why there were massive removal of observers: “Observers are being removed because of their activity, this is the desire to get rid of witnesses: information has appeared that they launched another carousel voting.”
