17-Year-Old College Student Committed Suicide In Homel

Juvenile affairs inspectors were scaring the guy with a special school.

On October 4th, a 17-year-old student of a college, a social orphan, committed suicide in Homel, tut.by reports.

According to BelaPAN official representative for Homel region Maryja Kryvanohava, Homel city department of the Investigative Committee is investigating the death of a guy, whose body was found near a multi-storey building in Mazurau Street without any signs of life. An inspection of the scene has been carried out, eyewitnesses are being questioned. A forensic medical examination has been scheduled.

One of the friends of the deceased told BelaPAN that on the eve of the tragedy, the young man had expressed thoughts of committing suicide, as he was threatened with being sent to a special institution because of his behavior problems. The boy's father and mother were deprived of parental rights because of alcoholism, and he was on state support. According to a friend, the social welfare was about Br130 a month and food.

"He couldn't stand it," - the friend of the deceased believes. On the eve of the suicide, the young man was detained for drinking alcohol, and not for the first time. "His juvenile affairs inspectors were scaring him with a special school. When he returned from the police to the dormitory, I saw a knife in his hands, he was trying to cut his veins. I advised him to take it easy. In the morning I saw that he was gone, started to call, but I did not get through. On the social network, he posted a picture of The End. Then it turned out that he jumped from the 12th floor in Mazurau Street. And before that he called another friend and told him where he was. The friend arrived and Ihar jumped from a height in front of his eyes," - the college student said.
