Several times, the political prisoner was kept in the punitive confinement for 100 days in a row.

Political prisoner Mikhail Zhamchuzhny spoke in a letter to human rights activist Leanid Svetsik about his life in the colony.

“During the calendar year (from October 1, 2017 to October 1, 2018), I spent 270 days in the punitive confinement,” – Mikhail says.

Leanid Svetsik tells palitviazni.info that for a long time, there were no letters from Mikhail Zhamchuzhny as he was in the punishment cell. Moreover, not all letters got out of the colony because of censorship.

“In the end, I got a response from Mikhail, – Leanid Svetsik says. – First of all, he thanks everyone who supports and helps him. It is especially important that there is information support, he needs it. He also writes that a lot of letters do not get out of the colony. He appealed to the prosecutor’s office; it turned out that only 12 of his letters had reached the addressees.”

“During the calendar year (from October 1, 2017 to October 1, 2018), I spent 270 days in the punitive confinement, – Mikhail writes. – At that, several times – for 100 days in a row. After my complaint, checks were carried out in the colony. And I do not intend to stop. Torture and experiments on prisoners will be appealed to the Supreme Court, and, if necessary, I will appeal to international institutions.”

The political prisoner complains that because of his permanent stay in the punitive confinement he is deprived of walks, and that “without the sunlight, calcium is washed out of the body, additional diseases appear, and this can seriously affect the health. It is very difficult to fight this, because everything is in the hands of the colony administration.”

“Mikhail says that parcels are not allowed, they also do not allow him to buy vitamins, – the human rights activist adds. – Since March of this year, he has written eight requests to allow him vitamins. In August, such a parcel arrived, but the administration seized it.”

“In order to somehow provide the body with vitamins, I eat eggs with the shell and fish with bones, – Zhamchuzhny writes. – Besides, I take exercises two hours a day – gymnastics and exercises for the eyes.”
