Conservative Christian Party Of Belarusian People's Front Applied For March To Kurapaty On Dziady

Conservative Christian Party Of Belarusian People's Front Applied For March To Kurapaty On Dziady

The event will take place on October 28.

The executive secretary of the organization, Ales Chakholski, informed BelaPAN about this, Radio Racyja reports.

“Its holding will be traditional,” he said, without specifying the place and time of the event before the official response of the authorities to the application.

Also next week, the party plans to submit an application for holding a traditional November 4procession and a rally in Loshytski Yar in memory of the victims of Stalinist repressions.

Belarusian Catholics annually celebrate Dziady in late October – early November.

Unlike spring Radunitsa, when the Orthodox remember the dead, Dziady is not a day off.

It should be noted that November 2 was a non-working day since the declaration of independence of Belarus, but in 1996 it was removed from the list of holidays.
