Tajikistan Hands Note To Russian Ambassador

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan handed a note to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Semyon Grigoriev in connection with "mass cases of manifestation of an emphatically negative attitude" towards the citizens of this country in Russia, as well as "widespread violation of their rights and freedoms" in Russia. "Such actions are applied exclusively to citizens of Tajikistan, which is fundamentally incompatible with the spirit and traditions of Tajik-Russian relations," the Dushanbe stated on Monday, April 29, Deutsche Welle reports.

The day before, a comment was posted on the website of the Tajik Foreign Ministry in connection with the problem of citizens of the country who are in the temporary detention areas of several Moscow airports. "As of the end of the day on April 27, 954 citizens of Tajikistan are in the temporary detention area in the Vnukovo International Airport of the Russian capital without proper sanitary conditions. There are Tajik students studying in Russia at the expense of educational quotas of the Russian government among the stuck citizens," the Tajik Foreign Ministry said.

According to him, after many hours of waiting, 322 citizens of Tajikistan were allowed to enter the Russian Federation. Another 306 people will be included by the Russian authorities in the so-called "deportation list", 27 people have already been deported. At the same time, "such restrictive measures are applied exclusively to citizens of Tajikistan," Dushanbe said. In addition, a difficult situation with Tajik citizens arriving in the Russian Federation has developed in other Moscow airports - Zhukovsky, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo. Dozens of Tajiks are being held in their detention areas without proper conditions, the statement reads.
