Tsikhanouskaya Addressed EU Parliament Speakers Summit In Mallorca

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya spoke at the summit of speakers of the EU parliaments in Mallorca, Spain, on April 22 and called on participants to support the European initiative for Belarus, and also stressed that Belarusians do not want to be part of the "Russian world". This was reported on her Telegram channel.

"Our people want to be part of Europe, not the ‘Russian world’. And it's not just about a better life. It is a matter of our survival of the nation. The dictators won't stop until we stop them. They can't be appeased, they can't be retrained. They can only be defeated," Tsikhanouskaya said.

She believes that the parliaments of different countries can influence the situation with Belarus.

“Parliaments can make a difference. Unlike many, you can call a spade a spade: Lukashenka and Putin are criminals. And Belarus is Europe, not Russia. Support the European aspirations of Belarusians. It is necessary to have the EU doors open for us when the time comes,” she added.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya called on European MPs to make statements and organize hearings on Belarus, as well as to create groups in parliaments to support democratic Belarus and give it official status.

"Show in practice that you recognize a democratic Belarus, and not an illegitimate regime in Minsk," concluded Tsikhanouskaya.

She also said that next week it is planned to sign a memorandum with the European Parliament. Previously, there was no such practice, but, according to Tsikhanouskaya, now is a difficult time and simple solutions are not enough.
