Homel Officials Sentenced To Three Years In Colony

For abuse of power.

Aliaksandr Sivakou, head of Chyhunachny district, and his deputy on economic issues Natallia Zhuk were detained in early 2023 right at their workplaces.

The officials were charged with abuse of power or official authority (Part 3 Article 426 of the Criminal Code). This article provides for 3 to 10 years of imprisonment.

As it became known, Sivakou and Zhuk were sentenced to the minimum possible terms. They were sentenced to 3 years in prison each, writes nashaniva.com.

Aliaksandr Sivakou headed the administration of Chyhunachny district of Homel in 2019-2023. Before that, in 2010-2017, he headed the state enterprise for road maintenance - "GorSAP". He was a deputy of the Homel City Council of Deputies and a member of election commissions.
