Were Several Generals And Colonels In Plot Along With Utsiuryn?

What is actually going on in Lukashenka’s “inner circle”?

The Russian private news agency Rosbalt claims that a source in the Belarusian secret services revealed the true reasons for Andrei Utsiuryn’s detention, which had not yet been officially confirmed and not refuted, Radio Svaboda reports in the article “The Former Head of Lukashenka’s Security Arrested for Collaborating With the FSB.”

On April 29, a number of Belarusian media reported with reference to their own sources about the detention of Andrei Utsiuryn, the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, the former head of Lukashenka’s security. Late in the evening of April 30, Lukashenka issued a decree on Utsiuryn’s dismissal “for committing offenses discrediting the title of a serviceman.” The detention was not officially confirmed and not refuted.

According to Rosbalt sources, Utsiuryn is indeed detained. It is alleged that:

“Utsiuryn was detained for repeated and numerous “leaks” to the Russian FSB and FSO”;

“He inherited acquaintanceship from the past: he was a Russian himself, he studied, worked and was friends with colleagues from the Russian special services”;

“For the past 25 years, Utsiuryn has been part of Lukashenka’s closest circle of contacts”

“Lukashenka’s youngest son, Mikalai, literally grew up in the hands of his father’s guard”;

“They are talking about a conspiracy, but it seems that “the matter is in too close relations between Utsiuryn and the Russian special services ”;

The Russian ambassador, Babich, was “removed from the office at the same time” with Utsiuryn, and “this is hardly a coincidence”;

They exposed “an anti-Lukashenka plot, the core of which was a group of 5-6 generals and colonels, mainly from the system of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs”, aimed at “preventing Lukashenka’s re-election to the presidency” and considering options up to his “physical liquidation”;

“The engine of the idea” allegedly was Aliaksandr Lukashenka’s eldest son, Viktar, in whom “they saw the alternative”, but it was he who had allegedly “leaked information about the plot”;

The disclosure of the conspiracy allegedly could be “inspired by Aliaksandr Lukashenka and his closest associates” in order to “strengthen the KGB” and “increase the pressure on Russia”.

When asked by Svaboda to commented on this version, official KGB representative Andrei Yarosh said: “No comment”.
