Fuel For Belarusian NPP Is Ready For Shipment

Some volumes of fuel have already been transferred to Atomstroyexport.

The fuel for the Belarusian NPP has been manufactured and is ready for delivery, Oleg Grigoriev, TVEL senior vice president, said at a briefing in Sochi, tut.by reports.

“Some volumes of fuel have already been transferred to Atomstroyexport (under the terms of the general contract, Atomstroyexport supplies fuel to each unit for the first fuelling and one re fuelling, further fuel supplies will be made by TVEL – Ed.). This year additional volumes of fuel will be transferred for delivery to Belarus,” – Grigoriev said.

We remind that Deputy Minister of Energy Mikhail Mikhadziuk, answering questions about the postponement of the delivery of fuel from the first to the third quarter, said that “the delivery of fuel is not an end in itself.” “If we deliver fuel, we have a completely different mode of operation at the station – in terms of providing physical protection and so on. Therefore, we are not in a hurry with this in order not to limit the construction and installation organizations. We will deliver it a month before the physical start-up, when we are fully ready for the start-up stage, we will give a go-ahead for the delivery of fuel,” – Mikhadziuk said.
