Sanctions Make Lukashenka Panic

The dictator said that they were "twisting his arms."

Lukashenka equals some actions of Russian partners in closing the market for Belarus to sanctions. He stated this on April 11 at a meeting with the economic bloc of the government, the press service of the dictator reports.

“When I received the list of issues, something surprised me: lately (maybe the media is lying, maybe the experts are reporting to me false information) but every day I hear and read that our main trade partner (they like to call themselves partners) is increasingly introducing sanctions against Belarus,– Lukashenka said. – They themselves are under sanctions and condemn it, and I absolutely support them here. But at the same time, they use the same weapons to fight against their closest allies.” "They are closing one enterprise after another. Then they didn’t like either the carrot, or the salad, or the cucumbers. Allegedly they suspect that we supply something from wrong place. And they close our enterprises every day. They close the market for us,” – Lukashenka noted.

He gave an example of how the Belarusian side acted a year or a half ago, when experts reported that the oil pipeline, which run through Belarus, were in an emergency condition. “I am talking exactly about the oil pipeline. And we should have closed those oil pipelines for repair for several days. But we did not do that. We understood that this would be detrimental to the Russian Federation. And then I instructed to work there on emergency schedule, but not to block these roads, which transport the main export product of the Russian Federation – oil,” – the dictator said.

According to him, this issue is still on the agenda. Lukashenka said, addressing Deputy Prime Minister Ihar Liashenka: “If you need to close oil pipelines that go through Belarus for repair, then close them and repair. Because the good that we do for the Russian Federation turns evil towards us. They have already become arrogant to such an extent that they begin to twist our arms.”

We remind, that a day before the Russian side imposed a temporary ban on the supply of apples and pears from Belarus to Russia. Rosselkhoznadzor suspects that products from countries in respect of which food sanctions have been imposed are delivered to Russia under the guise of Belarusian products.
