Firstly, the following trend is worth noting: in comparison with 2017, the number of Belarusian citizens who moved to live in Poland almost doubled. This happened against the background of the stagnation of the economy in our country.

Secondly, the number of those who left is comparable to the population of an average Belarusian district. For example, the karelichy district, where just over 19 thousand people live today. For a country with not the most favorable demographic situation, this is a rather alarming fact.

The third moment. It is worth paying attention to who leaves the country. As the Office for the Foreigners’ Affairs points out, the majority of young people are moving to Poland: about 59% are immigrants aged 20-39 years, 23% are 40-59 years old, 14% are younger than 20 years.

It can be assumed that the attractiveness of our western neighbor in the eyes of compatriots will only increase. That, in fact, is confirmed by the data on the growth in the number of labor migrants.

Here, it is no need to wait for decades for the salary bar promised by the authorities to reach the morally obsolete $500. It can already be earned by going to Poland as a simple seller. Moreover, a Belarusian doctor here can count on a salary that the residents of Moscow or St.Petersburg are still dreaming of.
