A similar situation has developed in many cities of Belarus.

Rechytsa sole traders are ready to protest and discussing the possibility of a strike. The reason for dissatisfaction is the massive opening of stores belonging to traders from the countries of Central Asia. They work without cash registers, certificates and other permits. Naturally, this allows them to sell goods at lower prices and win in unfair competition, the Basta telegram channel reports.

A similar situation has developed in many cities of the country. It is impossible to expand a business of such scale in Belarus not being supported in high offices.

For several years, the authorities have been fighting with the Belarusian sole traders, constantly introducing new prohibitions and restrictions. Today, in order to trade in the market, they are to have certificates even for a batch of several pieces of goods, pay 20% of import VAT regardless of the results of trade, and adhere to strict cash discipline. The destruction of the Belarusian small business has not lead to the prosperity of state trade, as was expected, but to the rapid growth in the number of strange outlets opened by people from Central Asia that are discovered in large numbers.

Yesterday Rechytsa sole traders held a meeting in the district executive committee, but did not receive a clear answer to their demands from the officials. Today, the possibility of a strike is being discussed in the town markets, as soon there will be no sense to go to work. The sole traders do not exclude joint actions with their colleagues from other cities and towns.
