Photofact: Vitsebsk Resident Bought In Store Baby Food With Worm

The baby food belongs to the Russian brand.

This story happened to a Vitsebsk resident last weekend. A young mother bought Tsioma baby food in the Vitsebsk retail chain, Vitsebsk Courier writes. Then the jar of canned food spent about a month in her refrigerator. The shelf life of the product is 24 months from the date of manufacture. As you can see in the photo, the jar was packed on 28.06.2018.

MILA STASEVA’S COLLAGE

We note that the Russian brand Tsioma, the manufacturer of JSC Danone Russia, presents itself as a high-quality baby food, “prepared as the baby wants.” Now Tsioma is a national brand, one of the leaders in the segment of baby food in Russia in both dairy and non-dairy categories.

Imagine the surprise of the young woman, when, opening a jar for her one-year-old baby, she found ... a worm living its own life, as they say, in the baby food.

MILA STASEVA’S COLLAGE

The young mother called the Vitsebsk Sanitary Station hotline and reported on the fact. The woman was listened to carefully and was told that “they have taken note of the situation”. The sanitary station explained that the product was Russian and could have been stored incorrectly even before being delivered to the Vitsebsk distribution network. It was possible to make an examination and analysis of when the worm larvae settled in baby food, but all that research would have to be done at her expense.
