Young Front Leader For Event In Memory Of Mikhail Zhyzneuski

The decision was made by the Tsentralny district court of Minsk.

The Tsentralny district court of Minsk punished the chairman of the Young Front, Dzianis Urbanovich, and public activist and director Volha Nikalaichyk with a fine for the meeting in memory of the Belarusian Hero of Ukraine, Mikhail Zhyzneuski, which took place at the monument to Taras Shevchenko on January 22, Belsat reports.

Volha Nikalaichyk was fined 40 basic units (1020 rubles), Dzianis Urbanovich – 50 basic units (1275 rubles).

The event was timed to the anniversary of Zhyzneuski’s death at Maidan, took place in the evening of January 22, 7 people took part in it. The activists brought photos of Zhyzneuski to the monument to Taras Shevchenko, lit candles, and also made short speeches. After the event, policemen in civilian clothes detained Dzianis Urbanovich and Volha Nikalaichyk, they spent the night in the temporary detention center in Akrestsin street.
