Lukashenka: Talks In Sochi Are Not Hard, But Arduous

The talks between the rulers of Russia and Belarus lasted 6 hours.

The Belarusian-Russian talks in Sochi were hard but fruitful, Lukashenka said today at a meeting in Minsk, BelTA informs.

"The main part of the negotiations was held one-on-one with the Russian president, the negotiations lasted 6 hours, even more. And frankly speaking, these were not even hard, but they were arduous negotiations. However, they were effective," – the dictator said.

According to him, "political issues, relations between Russia and Belarus within the framework of the EAEU, the CIS, the CSTO and the further construction of the union state" were discussed one-on-one.

"We have specific questions on the CSTO, especially regarding the CSTO chairmanship and the development of this organization, and we paid a lot of attention to the painful issues within the CIS that concern our two states. Ukraine –in the first place," – Lukashenka said.

"I think that these issues will be discussed first of all in Dushanbe in a week. And on October 12, we will touch them upon in Mahiliou during the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which will be attended by both presidents and government leaders," – he added.
