Pavel Seviarynets: Watch In Kurapaty Will Last At Least Until Dziady
PAVEL SEVIARYNETS

The politician has spoken about his meetings in Kurapaty and repression against the activists.

Politician and former political prisoner Pavel Seviarynets told palitviazni.info site about his meetings in Kurapaty and repression against the activists.

"Next week, we will go round the houses in Mirashnichenka street, which is closest to Kurapaty, – he says. – We also are sending a letter to the new Prime Minister of Belarus, Siarhei Rumas. At the moment, we have collected more than 200 signatures..."

"It's always sorry that I have little time for the meetings, – Pavel Seviarynets wrote on his Facebook page. – I can take twenty minutes, or ten, or even less to talk. But now there's a day, when you can talk with me for hours. This is Wednesday, the day of the BCD. It’s Kurapaty. I invite everyone who has long wanted to have a heart to heart talk, to explain why everything is so bad, or vice versa, is well. Do come to have a talk. You may as well support the Kurapaty watch. You don’t have necessarily to be on the firing line, as they say, – just stay there. Let’s talk there – to the full. Join in!"

According to the politician, such a call is a new approach for the defence of Kurapaty.

"When we are keeping the watch, there are only a few people, –- he says. – And it's time to carry out detailed discussions because we stand at the restaurant from 12:00 till late at night. Few people come to the restaurant, and sometimes nobody comes within five hours. Obviously, this time can be used efficiently. We can discuss politics, literature, party affairs ... I can say that in the three and a half months that we have been standing in Kurapaty, I found at least four new friends during these conversations. People join the BCD and the Kurapaty watch contributes to it."

Pavel Seviarynets adds that the watch will last at least until Dziady, and on September 24, a special press conference on the boycott of the restaurant will be held.

"Next week, we will go round the houses in Mirashnichenka street, which is closest to Kurapaty, – he says. – We also are sending a letter to the new Prime Minister of Belarus, Siarhei Rumas. At the moment, we have collected more than 200 signatures..."

The interviewee notes that repressions against the defenders of Kurapaty continue:

"Personally, I have been sentenced three times to 10 days of administrative arrest for Kurapaty. All in all, the defenders of Kurapaty have already been sentenced to more than 100 days. In addition, the people are punished with large fines, and it's even hard to calculate the sum total."
