REP Trade Union: Babruisk Worker’s Case Brings Into Question Whole National Social Security Fund System

The independent trade union is helping a worker to break the vicious circle.

REP trade union representative in Mahiliou region, lawyer Aliaksei Yauhenau has commented on the case of REP trade union member Dzmitry Kaniachuk: a brusher who received several injuries during timber work, praca-by.info reports:

– The case of Dzmitry Kaniachuk from Babruisk is becoming threatening for the system of state social protection of the population and, in general, the significancy of labor protection by the state. A person is again deprived of the right to draw up an accident report. Almost disabled people are sent to work, which is beyond the scope of healthy people. Doctors issue more and more sick certificates, and the employer, in between, more and more job orders for tree cutting.

Aliaksei Yauhenau renders legal assistance to REP trade union member Dzmitry Kaniachuk. To date, appeals have been written to the Department of Labor Inspection and Social Protection; it is necessary to get the results of the check in order to defend the employee’s interests in court. Meanwhile, Dzmitry Kaniachuk continues to work and get injuries: if he lose his job, he will be left with no means of support, because the health care system does not assign him a degree of disability. It’s a vicious circle: Dzmitry Kaniachuk does not have the right not to work, though he is not able to work.
