Is Vorsha Under Conditions Of Martial Law Until End Of Year?

The riot police will patrol Vorsha at least until the end of 2018.

Some time after Lukashenka announced that "martial law" would be declared in Vorsha, people in camouflage appeared in the city, the orsha.eu site reports.

Two or three of these camouflage people walk together with patrol policemen around the city. As it turned out, this is the Minsk riot police, who came to Vorsha for the so-called "city tryout." This is a common phenomenon for Belarusian cities, when additional forces come to strengthen the local police.

Usually, this reinforcement comes to the cities for not more than a week. But in Vorsha, the "camouflage" people bogged down. There were no official reports about a "city tryout," so it is not clear how long it will last.

According to journalists’ information from reliable sources, the riot police will patrol the city until the end of the year. Together with them, special services, such as Strala, will work in the city. It would seem that the strengthening of the local police should have been beneficial for the city's residents: the more policemen, the safer the city is. But in fact, the arrival of the "camouflage" people quite annoys the city residents. They inform the site about unreasonable – as they seem to people – detentions. First of all, this is the case of those who drank alcohol in the city, and then tried to get home. After cafes and visits, the people were detained at bus stops and even near the cafes themselves.

The only "benefit" from all this is that a bigger number of detainees result in more fines and "an increase in the revenue side" of the district budget.
