Leanid Kulakou Forced Lukashenka’s Administration To Respond In Regards To "Trade Union’s Case"
LEANID KULAKOU

The dictator’s administration sends activists carbon-copy replies.

Lukashenka's administration has responded to the appeal of European Belarus civil campaign activist Leanid Kulakou about stopping the criminal prosecution of REP trade union leaders Hennadz Fiadynich and Ihar Komlik, praca-by.info writes.

In the morning of August 24, the day the Savietski district court of Minsk pronounced the verdict on the "trade union’s case," dozens of people came to the reception of the ruler’s administration. They turned over their appeals to the reception desk, where they noted the unprecedented pressure that was being exerted on the REP trade union members and asked to stop the criminal prosecution of its leaders.

The response to Leanid Kulakou, signed by the head of the main department for dealing with citizens' appeals, Ryhor Shlyk, reads the following:

"The officials of the presidential administration have no right to assess the decisions taken by the courts, revoke them or revise them, and in accordance with Article 110 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, any interference in the activities of judges in the administration of justice is unacceptable and imposes liability under the law."

Similar carbon-copy replies were received by other claimants, in particular by Mozyr activist Uladzimir Neumiarzhytski and European Belarus civil campaign activist Maya Naumava.
