The entire Ministry of Health can be safely dispersed.

In his express comment to Salidarnasts, Leanid Zaika spoke on how to root out corruption in Belarusian medicine.

According to the head of the Strategy analytical center, the Belarusian officials’ initiative to create a special internal security service to fight corruption is an ill-considered step.

– This is a childish and naive backtoast of suffering officials, – he says. – This is ridiculous. Guys, well, what kind of minister, what deputy minister does not know who makes money in his department? It is quite clear that the people who say this are frightened that the police and the KGB will level them to the ground. So they react.

Apparently, since Soviet times, people have not stopped reporting on each other in Belarus. They think that if they create some kind of internal "spy" organization, which will surveille and roll over on certain figures, something will change. Can you imagine how many decent people will suffer because of these accusations?

According to the interlocutor, there is no need to create anything like this in Belarus. And the corruption can be dealt with without spending a ruble of budgetary funds – it is enough to trace where the prices for medicines are overestimated and to find the reason:

– I just returned from Russia – and the Russians, obviously, also like to steal, no less than the Belarusians. But the drugs which I personally use, for some reason, are twice as cheaper there than in Belarus. Lukashenka together with Kolia must go to the pharmacy and look at the prices there. And then to compare them: what is there in neighboring countries? And they will see straight away, where and how much money has been stolen.

Also, Leanid Zaika draws attention to another potentially corrupt scheme, which has been used in Belarus for many years.

– Abroad, most of medicines are sold without a prescription. And we have a system that promotes fraud ... They first purchase certain medicines according to their "commercial" interests, and then the Ministry of Health advises doctors what medications to prescribe in case of some kind of illness. And to sell them solely by prescription. Here you have a corruption scheme, which allows to earn big money.

I'll give you an example from my life. When a person close to me was dying from oncology, then, five years ago, a medicine appeared. Then it was produced only in Japan and Austria, and cost five thousand euros. It was impossible to buy that medicine in Belarus because it was not certified! And I had to ask my friends in Germany to bring it here. They were transporting the medicine across the border, having crossed themselves.

After this incident, it became clear to me that the entire Belarusian pharmaceutical policy is complete nonsense. It's a mere mockery. And the entire Ministry of Health can be safely dispersed ... And the creation of some internal services – guys, just look attentively in the mirror, – Leanid Zaika summed up.
