Parents Win Counterstand With Officials, Achieve Opening Of Belarusian-Language School Class In Baranavichy

The mother of three Belarusian-speaking girls told about the first days at school.

The best educational establishment in Baranavichy – the grammar school #4 – opened a class with the Belarusian language of teaching. 11 people study there. It took the parents two years to open this class, having overcome the obstacles set by the officials and the headmaster, Radio Racyja reports.

Heroic mother of three Belarusian-speaking girls Tatsiana Malashchanka tells about the first days of the Belarusian-language class, which will have to study at the premises of a kindergarten so far. They struggled for the Belarusian-language class all together:

– So many impressions, of course. The teacher is very good, as the headmaster says, the best. She was educated to work with junior school children, and also has a degree in the Belarusian philology. Also, she is kind and the kids like her. The English language teacher also knows Belarusian well, she is the best in what she does.

According to Tatsiana Malashchanka, the only way to disseminate Belarusian-language classes is to organize them in good schools, with good teachers and favorable conditions. Enlist children there each year and not to set any terms for the parents. And these classes will exist and be filled with children.
