"Final Diagnosis": Lukashenka Took Offense At Himself

17 years ago, one of the most outstanding events in the history of the Belarusian resistance was held.

On August 15, 2001, the first criminal case "for insulting the honor and dignity of the president" was opened in Belarus, the Basta telegram channel writes.

The day before, five activists of the Zubr movement had organized a small performance in Shklou, in the native town of Lukashenka. One of them put on a mask with a mustache and started to go at passers-by, promising to raise the salary, imprison the magsmen and cut down the prices. A familiar set, isn’t it? A few minutes later, some people wearing white surgical coats appeared in the street. They were asking people: "Have you seen our patient? He escaped from a psychiatric hospital." The passersby quickly helped to find the patient and even took part in his detention.

It was not possible to take the patient back to the hospital - the police got involved. All the participants in the performance were arrested. First, an administrative case was initiated against them. Protocols for "petty hooliganism" were drawn up against the activists. But the reminder of his own unfulfilled promises caused an attack of the patient’s mosaic psychopathy, and the next day, the prosecutor's office announced the initiation of a criminal case for insulting the honor and dignity of the dictator under Article 368 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus.

That year, moustached crazy skiers regularly appeared in dozens of Belarusian cities. The epidemic started after the Final Diagnosis event, held in Minsk Horki Park in spring. Then Zubr members publicly raised the issue of Lukashenka’s health for the first time, which, judging by yesterday's aggravation, has not lost relevance today.
