Ministry Of Labor: Layoffs At Enterprises To Continue

At the same time, the situation is unlikely to change in the near future, the Ministry of Labor forecasts. The reason is that the enterprises are being modernized. "The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus is concerned that the number of laid-off workers still exceeds the number of employed ones. So, in June this difference amounted to 2.5 thousand people, in May - 12 thousand, in April - 14 thousand. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection predicts: this trend will continue even further, as enterprises are being modernized," - Zviazda writes.

During the first six months of this year, the enterprises laid off about 330,000 workers and employed about 300,000.

In 2017, the organization fired 694.3 thousand people in Belarus, and employed 41.1 thousand less.
