I Just Came Up To Traffic Policeman And Asked How He Was: How Clashes With Police Started In Zhabinka

The resident of the district center presented his version of events.

After the publication of the article "Zhabinka City Day Celebration Ends In Clashes With Special Forces, Police ", the guy who was detained first contacted the editor’s office of nn.by. He was the one after whom the detentions of youngsters in Zhabinka began.

The young man introduced himself as Stas, he told his story. "We were sitting in the central square, there were tables with a bar, I was drinking beer. A traffic policeman was standing at the parking lot in the square.

I approached him and asked: "How are you?" He said: "You want to know how I am, - now you will find out." He was sitting in the car, and then took out the handcuffs, grabbed my hand. I pulled my hand back, he got angry, got into the car and left," Stas tells his version.

"After the square we went to the dance floor. Two policemen ran up there, hit me in the legs and detained me. When I was convoyed, the people approached to see what was going on. The police did not like that everyone took pictures and asked questions. The mayhem started from this. From this began outrage. They started seizing people’s phones, beating everyone. Whoever passed by, ended up in the police department," says the guy.

Stas was released from the police station at 8 am. "We were all beaten. It's clear. They beat people in the car, and beat them at the police station. And they did not even explain why they detained us. They made a protocol on me for drinking alcoholic beverages, so I was fined 5 base fees. This is my the first protocol for drinking. Examination showed that I had 0.4 ppm of alcohol in my blood - it's a glass of beer, " says the participant of the incident.

A total of seven peoplke were detained at the celebration of the City Day in Zhabinka. At least one of them is still held in the detention center on suspicion of using force against a police officer.
