Many Belarusians stand for the release of the director, illegally sentenced in the Russian Federation.

Hrodna journalist and human right activist Uladzimir Khilmanovich took part in the international action of support of the Ukrainian director, political prisoner Oleh Sentsov, who is on hunger strike in the Russian colony, baj.by writes.

The action in support of Oleh Sentsov was held on July 13 around the world. The participants were photographed in the iconic places of their cities. Uladzimir Khilmanovich took a picture near the Boris and Gleb Church, one of the oldest Belarusian temples, the ancient symbol of Hrodna.

According to the journalist, he wants to show that many Belarusians stand for the release of Sentsov — the innocently condemned person.

- He was convicted only for the fact that he had a position of principle. At the time when the presidents and politicians come to Russia, they forget Russia and its satellites hold political prisoners in jails. It is our duty to remind politicians and all the people about this - Khilmanovich says.

A similar action was held yesterday, on the birthday of Oleh Sentsov in many countries around the world.
