Belarusian IT-Pros To Serve In The Army

An IT squadron is being formed in Belarus.

The HTP resident companies have received the letter notifying the establishment of the Belarusian IT squadrons, dev.by reports with a reference to the sources in several companies.

"In accordance with the decision of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, the informational technologies squadron has been formed in the educational establishment "Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus" (hereinafter - ITS), - the document says. - The squadron is assumably to be staffed by persons with higher education in the profiled IT-specialties, since November 2018".

The Military Academy invites representatives of the HTP-resident companies to a meeting "with the purpose of informing the employees of your organizations, who are subjects for drafting for military service, on the criteria of selection, service, the organization of work and the expected performance of the ITS."

During the meeting, which is scheduled for July 20, "it is also planned to discuss all the issues related to the calls for conscript service and service in the reserve of the employees of the HTP companies."

The press-center of the Defense Ministry confirmed to dev.by the information about creating an IT squadron. "Tthis is a serious issue", - they said.
