Larysa Shchyrakova Achieved Termination Of Her Case For Interview That Had Not Been Taken
LARYSA SHCHYRAKOVA

While the Homel journalist was asleep, the policeman saw the illegal interview in his dream.

Homel journalist-freelancer Larysa Shchyrakova received a message signed by the head of the Svetlahorsk district police department, Aliaksandr Ziazetka, about the termination of the administrative case against her. The police chief refers to Part 1 of Article 9.6 and Article 11:10 of the Administrative Code, Homel Spring reports.

"A little thing, but it matters. Although it was worthwhile to refer to the mistake and absurdity of the accusation, not to the lapse of term of the administrative sanction," – Larysa Shchyrakova says.

Senior Lieutenant Aleh Kautsevich has drown up the administrative protocol against the journalist under Article 22.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. It states that on March 9, at 8 o'clock in the morning, Shchyrakova "illegally interviewed" residents of the village of Yakimava Slabada of Svetlahorsk district, and then posted the video interview in the News program on the satellite television channel Belsat.

"Upon my soul, at that time I was peacefully sleeping at home. Besides, on the TV channel Belsat, as far as we know, there is no such a program," – the journalist adds.

The above-mentioned administrative protocol, drown up by police officer Aleh Kautsevich, Svetlahorsk district judge Ruslan Tsaruk considered at a court session on April 24, but postponed the consideration to bring the author of the protocol to court. And when the latter failed to explain the circumstances of the claims against the journalist, judge Tsaruk sent the protocol to the police department for revision.

The police waited for the expiration of the administrative sanction and told Larysa Shchyrakova that the case of violating Article 22.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses was closed.
