Vorsha Officials Greeted Column Of Armored Vehicles From Russian Federation With Bread And Salt

The reception of the Road of Courage armor-race in Vorsha was organized by the department of culture. As the website writes, it followed from the fact that the acting head of the department of culture, Siarhei Harbachou, advertised the meeting.

On June 18, referring to his words, a number of state-owned media published the information that the race would be met near the monument to Katsiusha in Vorsha at 12-00. The race, however, arrived to the meeting place almost an hour and a half behind the time. All along, people were waiting near the monument, listening to Soviet military songs. The part of the extras was, as always, performed by members of the BRYU and the Cossack club Rusichi.

The officials presented the latecomers with bread and salt and started to say welcoming words.

As it turned out, the militaristic armor-race was not only reminiscent of World War II, but also it popularized today's war – at least one vehicle was seen with stickers on it in support of organizations that are considered terrorist in neighboring Ukraine: "Luhansk People's Republic" and "Novorossia."
