The concern raises super profit on the Russian oil.

At the end of May head of the Belneftekhim concern Ihar Lyashenka told that at the current price of oil gasoline would rise by almost 24%. Few days later Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Semashka supported the representative of the oil industry. "Over the past month and a half the oil price has risen by 30%... Therefore, the price increase is inevitable," Deputy Prime Minister stated.

What is the true price of oil in Belarus? Why do authorities warn people about the inevitable oil price shock? These questions of ucpb.org were addressed to the head of the Strategy analytical center, economist Leanid Zaika:

- Price increase play into the hands of those who deal with import of Russian oil. Our country consumes only 7 million tons of oil, we buy 22 million tons. And these 15 million are in hands of those who make money out of thin air.

Oil price could have remained the same given the fact that we consume only 7 million tons.

One of my colleagues counted: "Considering the fact that exports of petroleum products make up to 40% of our exports, we can afford our citizens use it for free.

The second aspect is that taxes make up a half of the oil price. Gasoline price in various countries is determined by the tax share in final price. Now we pay $350 for a ton of Russian oil. So I am confident to say that a liter of gasoline should cost 50-60 cents. I mean 1-1.20 rubles. Other things are the work of the devil.
