The trials of other participants in the picket on April 26 have been held.

On May 23, the Pershamaiski district court of Minsk considered REP trade union activist Halina Lahatskaya’s case on an administrative offense, the human rights center Viasna reports.

She was accused of taking part in an "unauthorized mass event" – a picket for the release of political prisoners, which took place near the Academy of Sciences on April 26.

As a result, the judge found Halina Lahatskaya guilty of committing an offense and inflicted punishment – a fine of 25 basic units.

It also became known that on May 22, there was a court hearing on a similar case against Natallia Harachka-Basalyha, however, no one informed the woman about the session. Only today, she has learned that a decision was made to bring her to justice by a fine of 50 basic units.

We remind that on April 26, activists of the European Belarus civil campaign were standing near the Academy of Sciences, opposite the Kastrychnik cinema with portraits of Belarusian political prisoners in their hands and were loudly chanting: "Freedom!" And "Long Live Belarus!". The policemen did not touch them, but protocols were drawn up against all of them.

Later, the Pershamaiski District Court fined European Belarus activist Leanid Kulakou and Maya Naumava 40 and 35 basic units respectively, and Maksim Viniarski and director and activist Volha Nikalaichyk were sentenced to a 7 day administrative arrest.
