REP Trade Union Activist From Hrodna: We Want To Support Our Leaders

An application for a picket in defense of the REP independent trade union leadership has been filed in Hrodna.

"Stop harassment of independent trade unions in Belarus!" "Stop the criminal case against Hennadz Fiadynich and Ihar Komlik!" Throughout the country, there will be held pickets of solidarity with the REP trade union under such slogans from May 30 to June 1.

Hrodna REP trade union activists also filed an application for a picket in Kalozhski Park on June 1. REP trade union activist Ihar Bantser tells Radio Racyja about it:

– We filed an application for the event in Hrodna, which will take place in Kalozhski Park on June 1, as part of the republican campaign to support the REP trade union. The theme of the event is as folllows: to support the REP trade union leaders, against whom criminal cases have been initiated unlawfully. We just want to support them and this will happen all over the country, in all the cities where there are decent local trade union branches.

Hrodna REP trade union activists are waiting for a response from the city authorities, it is also known that today applications for holding protests have been filed in Minsk (three places), Homel, Kalinkavichy, Sviatlahorsk, Rechytsa, Vetka, Brest, Baranavichy, Mahiliou, Babruisk, Kruhlaye, Slonim and Navapolatsk.
