Lukashenka: Belarusian Hockey Players Should Be In Lowest Division

The dictator commented on the defeat of the national team at the 2018 World Cup.

Belarusian hockey players should go to the lowest division. Lukashenka said this today, at the meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs, the chairman of the supervisory board of the Dynamo-Minsk club, Ihar Shunevich, BelTA informs.

"The fact that our team was kicked out of the elite division is right, their place is out from there. They have nothing to do in this division playing like that. But we can not agree with this in any way," – Lukashenka said.

The dictator asked how the club "Dynamo-Minsk", which is the base for training hockey players for the national team, will further develop.

"Now the federation of hockey pays more and more attention to Dynamo, saying that the club does not fulfill its obligations. The club says that they need to play and win, show the game, so they have their own interests. To eliminate discrepancies, we need to make sure that the best players play in Dynamo, and the best Dynamo players are in the national team," – Lukashenka said.

"Фе the price of everything (better, of course, without such sacrifices), we should give preference to the national team. Everything should serve to the country. Belarusian hockey players and first of all goalkeepers should play. It's not good that there's no normal defense. And there are no attacking players. If they can not score ten goals in dozen matches, this is not a team," – the dictator noted.
