Leanid Zlotnikau: Lukashenka Is Bankrupt Without Russian Subsidies!

On the prospects of the economy against the background of the tax maneuver in the Russian Federation.

Next year, the Belarusian budget may lose $ 8 billion because of the oil maneuver in Russia. The friendship is no go. Economist Leanid Zlotnikau has told Belsat about what it means for the Belarusian authorities:

– Now we buy oil from Russia at prices without export duties, it’s about 100-110 dollars cheaper than the price for Poles or Germans. We process it and sell, and keep the duties for ourselves. And we could earn quite a lot that way, about 3.6 billion dollars this year. And now Russia will replace the export duties by the tax. [...] And it will remain in the Russian budget. [...] Without Russian subsidies, our power is bankrupt! If they do not grant loans, it will be worse than today. Although, even today, our people’s life is not sweet.
