Stockholm Syndrome Or Memory Lapses?

Stockholm Syndrome Or Memory Lapses?
MAKSIM VINIARSKI

Lukashenka is the main enemy of independent Belarus.

“As long as Lukashenka is alive, we won’t lose independence. <...> Put this way, it is extremely important that Lukashenka transfers power to someone in his lifetime and not die at his post. Otherwise there can be everything.”

This quote is not from Savetskaya Belorussia. But a seemingly independent journalist of a supposedly independent newspaper wrote this. And this no longer can be explained by the Stockholm syndrome. More likely it's memory lapses.

Who has been destroying all Belarusian for these 25 years – from the flag and the coat of arms to schools and the media?

Who is cruelly breaking up demonstrations and marches in support of independence?

Who throws patriots and nationalists behind bars?

Who gave orders to kill opposition leaders who opposed alliances with Russia?

Who regularly conducts joint military drills with the Russian army?

I will not continue.

Lukashenka is the main enemy of independent Belarus.

The sooner he leaves, or, as the journalist put it, “dies at his post,” the sooner we will have a chance to gain independence.
