Economist To Authorities: Keep Your Mouth Close, Stop Disgracing Yourself!

The country is ruled by very weak people.

Head of the analytical center “Strategy” Leanid Zaika has said this in an interview to primus.by, commenting on the economic policy of the Belarusian authorities and approaches in the formation of the state budget of the country:

- As an econimist,I want to say the following: the Belarusian budget has never earned my serious attitude. Orwell’s quotation seems relevant here: the best budget is the lack of budget.

The budget of Belarus is just plasticine. Because with our inflation figures, all these numbers are floating like baloons in the sky.

What the government is doing is crap. Real crap. Very weak people run the country and deal with the budget. They do not understand that Belarus should be independent and self-sustained. And all the certainty of the budget should proceed not from the price of oil, but from the created GDP, which is formed in the main branches of employment and activity.

It surprises me a lot when the current finance minister starts saying: we figured out what the dollar rate will be ... What are you, the US Federal Reserve? Oh, keep your mouth shut, stop disgracing yourself! The ruble is your business.

Initially, the dollar rate is “counted”, and then the projected oil prices. This formula is for fools.

If you like oil and you want to imitate the Russians, then at least understand that there is no budget in the Russian Federation. What they call a “budget” is a cash book of a gas station. John McCain once rightly said that Russia is a big gas station.

You guys haven't jumped out of your gas station history yet. Lukashenka has not found a single minister for all the time who would understand the need for restructuring the budget.
