“Parasites” Database Starts Working And Gets Broken

“Parasites” Database Starts Working And Gets Broken

The invention of the Belarusian authorities encountered technical problems.

The electronic database of citizens not engaged in the economy started to work on December 1. But it is difficult to check whether they included you there due to technical problems, Belsat reports.

“Prove that you are working, otherwise we will add you to the database of parasites,” – such was the meaning of the letter, which the plumber Aliaksandr Tsaruk received from the Mahiliou City Executive Committee. It would seem that a man working under a contract cannot get into the list of those who have to pay for heating five times more.

“A girl from the commission told me that I was not in their database. Well, I'm not there, ok, but how can I make sure of that ?! It's the 21st century now. I could at least sent them a screenshot, proving that I am not in this database as of a certain day,” – Aliaksandr Tsaruk says.

There are three ways to verify this. To address the employment commission at the district executive committee. Or check information on the Single Portal for Electronic Services. And, finally, the option for the most desperate ones – to acquire an electronic signature and break through the maze of bureaucratic terms to order the treasured certificate on the website of the National Center for Electronic Services.

Officials advise to use the second option, but Aliaksandr could not manage to get a login and password on the first day. He had to address the commission again.

The administration of the Kastrychnitski district explained the problem with the imperfection of technology. “We really had such a technical problem yesterday, so we could not give him a login and password. Today we work until 8 o'clock. Therefore, he can contact us at any time and we will give him a login and password,” – the One Window service of the Kastrychnitski district administration of Mahiliou said to Belsat.

As a result, Aliaksandr addressed the public reception office, which the United Civil Party opened in Mahiliou.

“Already on the first day here came a few people who are outraged by the “chain letters of happiness” and the current state of things. People told me what was going on in the employment centers, and what kind of jobs those centers offered – with a salary of 200-250 rubles only,” – the manager of the United Civil Party's public reception office Uladzimir Shantsau said.

Data on 500 people were included in the so called database of social parasites. Every tenth employable Belarusian is at risk.

Today, the One Window service of the Kastrychnitski district administration of Mahiliou is already issuing logins. It’s a pity they don’t work.

“There are some technical problems in Minsk. We already called up with them. And they haven't fixed anything for us yet.”
