The Hrodna court fined Aliaksandr Laurentsyeu for BYN 735 rubles.

The Leninski district court of Hrodna considered the administrative case of Aliaksandr Laurentsyeu, who participated in a picket on the anniversary of the October Revolution. He was charged with organizing an “unauthorized mass event” under Part 3 of Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, reports the human rights center “Viasna”.

Police officers “guarded” activists since the morning of November 7, so that they could not join the official rally of protesters. Activist Mikalai Salianik was even detained. But in the end, activists still came to the Lenin Square with a poster “Down with the Czarist Regime!” They stood there for a while, and then went to the Soviet Square. There, in the area of the Neman shopping center, they were detained with force.

Mikalai Salianik and Aliaksandr laurentsyeu were brought to the Leninski district police department of Hrodna. There, after the demand of Salianik and other social activists, an ambulance was called. The doctors made Salianik an injection and left.

Mikalai Salianik was released from the police department after the police had drawn up a protocol on administrative violation, while Aliaksandr Laurentsyeu remained in custody in the temporary detention center.

After Salianik was released, he was again detained. Late in the evening it became known that he was placed in hospital.

Judge Ruslan Huryn made a decision on bringing Laurentsyeu to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine in the amount of 30 base fees, or BYN 735.

Mikalai Salianik is still in hospital.
