Hrodna Residents: What Does Day Of Coup In Neighboring Country Have To Do With Us?

According to Hrodna residents, it would be better to have Dziady as a day off.

Belarusian authorities celebrate the Day of the October Revolution, and this day is a day off.

Radio Racyja has asked what people think about this day and whether Hrodna residents celebrate it:

– For me, the 7th of November is an ordinary day now. When I worked, it was an extra day off. I do not remember my family to celebrate it. My parents did not go to the demonstrations.

– The day of November 7 is just a common day for me. I do not take it either as a holiday or as a day off. It’s similar to a number of others. In the old days, of course, people celebrated it together in the Soviet Union, when there was such a tradition. The day of the coup in the neighboring country, what does it have to do with us?

– This is not a holiday in any post-Soviet country.

– In our family it is not celebrated because of the fact that the Bolsheviks came to power. I believe that this holiday is a barbarian one.

According to Hrodna residents, it would be better to have Dziady as a day off than to celebrate a communist holiday that took place in a neighboring country.
