Lukashenka in Orsha: We Are Ugly People

The dictator complained about "bad mood".

The decision about the modernization of the Orsha linen factory was correct, but it should have had better efficiency. Lukashenka stated that at the meeting on development of flax processing business, BelTA informs.

The dictator pointed out that the decision on modernization of the flax industry had been made long ago, and now all argues about whether it was right or wrong are useless. "I believe that that decision was right," Lukashenka stressed.

Along with it, according to him, the process is still missing efficiency.

"My impression is that we are ugly people. We should love our coutry. Our deeds not words should be the best evidence," the dictator said.

Lukashenka drew attention that many countries used to grow flax: France, China, Russia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Belarus. "We took the sixth or seventh position, now we take the second position," he summed up. France is still growing some flax of better quality. China does not grow it anymore. Flax cultivation has turned its toes in Russia.

Meanwhile, the dictator stated that people appreciated products made of flax. "And it's a "remedy" for Russia, Ukraine and our Chernobyl republic." Linen fabric is our way out. Both Europe and the world have realized that flax is needed. But the number of producers is declining. Was it the right decision to start modernization, especially of the linen manufacturing? Absolutely right. And the life is the best judge. But why am I in bad mood? Because we neglect this sphere," he added.

"Walking along shops, the director just mentioned what was done. We have seen what beautiful clothes can be made of flax beaten tow. But the plant process only 30-35%. Where is the rest? It is packed and sent. Now 60-70% of the flax beaten now does not bring the profit it could have brought," Lukashenka stated.
