Pashinyan: We Condemn Deal Of Minsk And Baku

Yerevan condemns deals that are directed against the national interests of Armenia.

Armenia condemns the signing of a memorandum by Minsk and Baku on supplying arms from Belarus to Azerbaijan as a violation of the CSTO charter, the acting head of the Armenian government Nikol Pashinyan said in Yerevan on Tuesday, Interfax reports.

“The position of Armenia on the military deal of Minsk and Baku is very clear, the country condemns such deals, such deals are directed against the national interests of Armenia, also violate the Charter of the CSTO,” – he said.

“I want to assure that Armenia fulfills all the obligations to its allies in the organization, but I cannot say this about our partners,” – N. Pashinyan added.

A memorandum of understanding between the State Military-Industrial Committee of Belarus and the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan on the development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the field of supplying weapons and air defense equipment was signed on the eve of the negotiations between the Azerbaijani dictator Ilham Aliyev and Lukashenka in Minsk.

“In the shortest time it will be transformed into a contract for the purchase of another batch of military equipment from Belarus,” – I.Aliyev said.
