Belarus and Russia will sign a series of documents on joint integration in the military sphere.

"The West has focused on insurance of military mobility potential. It finally aims at prompt deployment of American forces in the territory of Europe." Minister of Defense of Russia Sergey Shoigu said it on the Wednesday meeting of military departments of Belarus and Russia, TASS informs.

"Tension simmers caused by activity of the West aimed at extension of the military mobility potential. It finally aims at prompt deployment of American forces in the territory of Europe," Shoigu said.

According to him, to organize deployment of build force in the Baltic States and countries of the Eastern Europe, joint operations rooms and advanced airfields are created, sea ports are improved, equipment and stocks prepositioning system is being developed.

"The infrastructure improvement aims at minimization of deployment period and at the increase of the offensive ability," the Russian Minister stressed.

He also told Belarusian Minister of Defense Andrei Raukou that NATO had increased the intelligence activity in the Baltic and the Black Sea regions. "From the beginning of the year the Russian Aerospace Forces were alarmed more than 120 times to intercept possible overflyers.

"An increased NATO activity is registered in the Baltic and the Black Sea regions," the minister said.

Today, October 24, Russian Defense Minister, General Sergei Shoigu has a working visit in Belarus. Minsk hosts the meeting of the joint Colleague of Military Departments of Russia and Belarus. It is focused on joint stability and safety insurance in the region.

Its participants will also discuss the performance of Russia-Belarus Activity Plan, including preparation and exercise of "The Shield of the Union-2019".

At the end of the meeting it is planned to sign a series of documents to develop integration processes in the military sphere of both states.
