Minsker: Minsktrans Head Advised Her To Eat Liverwurst

People pay for a dorm room more than for renting a three-room apartment.

Long ago, Minsktrans (Ministry of Transport) employees got apartments from work. Having lived there all their life, they decided to privatize housing. But they couldn't: the balance holder considered this to be inexpedient and assigned the house the status of a dormitory. Now everyone thinks where to get money to pay utility bills.

“Minsktrans leadership advised us to eat liverwurst, noodles, take loans and build our own housing,“ –Tatyana Lukashevich, who lives in the dormitory, says Belsat.

The balance holder told the tenants that the money they pay went to the maintenance of the dormitories. But people say that they have not seen workers there for a long time.

“In total I pay about 160 rubles. This is a rental cost for a two-room apartment. They take 80 rubles simply because I walk in it,” – a resident of the dormitory says.

Residents of the dormitories that belong to Minsktrans, wrote a letter to Lukashenka's administration. They think that maybe they will be helped there. After all, until now, they were receiving the same answer from different bodies – everything is legal.

Maryna Kurian also lives in the dormitory. Her utility bill is 230 rubles. Lawyers believe that if nothing changes in our legislation in the near future, an increase in fees for dormitories can lead to a social explosion.
