Police, Riot Police Detain 90 People Near Minsk

The Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a raid at the Zhdanovichy market.

The officers of the Central district police department of Minsk, together with the riot police, conducted a raid covering the territory of the Zhdanovichy trading house. Their goal was to identify those violating public order, engaged in vagrancy and begging, according to the website of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, writes kp.by.

Police officers detained 90 people in respect of whom 42 administrative protocols were drawn, of which: 31 - for committing an administrative offense under Article 17.3 (“Drinking alcoholic, low-alcoholic beverages or beer, consumption of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues in a public place or appearing in a public place or at work while intoxicated”) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, 9 for committing an administrative offense under Article 23.4 (“Disobedience to a lawful order or request of an official in the exercise of their official authority”) by the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, 2 - for an administrative offense under Article17.1 (“Petty hooliganism”) of the same Code.

The police also checked the legality of their stay at the territory of the Republic of Belarus; 28 foreigners were checked. As a result, 5 foreigners were brought to administrative responsibility for violation of the legislation on the legal status of foreign citizens in Belarus.

In total, 10 people were sent to the center for isolation of law-breakers of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
