Support your heroes.

On October 14, at Lenin square in Brest, 120 people held a protest rally against the construction of a dangerous lead-acid battery plant near the city.

It is said that 120 people are a small number. But 120 courageous and worthy people protesting at the main square of a regional center in an intimidated country are a lot. It is as if a thousand protesters gathered near the administration of the “president” in Minsk.

I understand that nobody likes detentions, days of arrest and fines. But to allow the contamination of your wonderful city with lead emissions, which are inevitable with the full cycle of producing two million batteries a year using the Chinese technology of the 1990s, is much worse.

I urge Brest residents not to give up and continue the fight. After all, your health, the health of your loved ones and future generations of city residents is on the сhopping bloc.

You have a wonderful cultural city, the real western gate of Belarus. Take one example – during the 5 day arrest in the Brest detention center, I never heard the staff of this institution using the Russian swearing. At that, their capital colleagues never stop using it.

Do not let irresponsible businessmen and officials poison your city. Fight for your right to life and health. Support your heroes – the organizers and active participants of the campaign against hazardous production. Demand the release of arrested bloggers Siarhei Piatrukhin, Aliaksandr Kabanau, Brest BNC leader Andrei Sharenda, Dziamjan Lepiasevich and other activists.

Do not let the criminals in power make Belarus the location of dangerous production facilities prohibited in China.

Long live Belarus!
