Mikalai Statkevich To Judge: You Do Not Respect Yourself

The politician refused to speak at the unlawful trial.

A judge of the Leninski district court of Brest, Aliaksandr Semianchuk, sentenced Narodnaya Hramada and Belarusian National Congress leader Mikalai Statkevich to 5 days of arrest for participating in the rally against the battery factory construction, which took place at Lenin Square in Brest on October 14.

Mikalai Statkevich refused to speak with the judge at all, saying that he did not consider that trial lawful, Narodnaya Hramada reports on Facebook.

“I came to protect you from this lead. You don’t respect yourself and want me to respect you,” – the politician said.
