Detained Shoigu’s Deputy Lived In Mansion Described In ‘The Master and Margarita’ Novel

A photo fact.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Timur Ivanov lived in the capital's mansion, which is described in the novel “The Master and Margarita.”

The house is located in Chisty Lane, searches are currently being carried out there.

In 2019, the house was renovated, and then Ivanov moved in. It occupied all floors of Anna von Meck's 19th-century estate.

According to researchers of the work of the writer Mikhail Bulgakov, the Master from the famous novel lived in the basement of this house.

Ivanov was detained at his workplace on April 23. He is suspected of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale as part of an organized group when carrying out contract and subcontract work for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense. A criminal case has been initiated against him. The Deputy Minister could face up to 15 years in prison.

As the website Charter97.org wrote earlier, Timur Ivanov might be suspected of treason.
